I think it is normal, not creative, but there are some mistakes for example 3 times pencils doesn't make sense. I think you can improve on the sentences, but except that it's quite good.
We thought the first sentence should be cut into two or more sentences because the question was very hard to understand. The idea of pencils were good. Try to be more specific. If you just modify those, your word problem would be very clear and creative.
I really like how the problem is organized. However, the amount of pencil that you started with, which is x, cannot be multiplied by three as two is, because it is two that is being increased by every 3 times, not the amount of pencils that you started with. I think you can change the word problem a bit and the rest will make sense. Great word problem!
